Megan
Megan is a great piano player. When she has a new song it doesn't take her too long before she has it conquered. She loves to sit down and play - especially if I tell her she doesn't have to practice that day. She has the best little fingers, it is fun to watch them fly across the keys.
Over Christmas we painted all the boards along the floor. If you look to the left of her, you can see the unpainted boards and the painted boards she is working on in front of her. Megan really wanted to help paint. She begged and begged! She thinks it is a great thing to paint. She did a great job helping us, not too many fixes that we had to do from where she painted. Now we move onto her multi colored room...
She got a dollhouse for Christmas that she also helped paint. This one was little more tricky in the small areas and with craft paint - but she did well. What mistakes we both made, I easily covered with white paint. It was fun working on it with her. I purposely selected the brightest colors that I could find at the store because I know that my Meg LOVES bright, flamboyant colors!
Megan decided one Sunday morning to start drawing some Nintendo characters on a white board. We have a book on how to draw them. Usually the kids will just trace them but she was able to look and draw. It turned out pretty cool. She has some great talents. I thought it was great to have something for her to do while I fixed her hair for church!
Megan received a character trait award at school that her classmates nominated her for, "Good Judgement"... the teacher tries to encourage them to see the good in each other. It is really good for this group of kids. They can be a handful. She loves it when I bring Emma into the classroom. All the girls go 'ga-ga' over Emma.
Megan is special girl. She love to mother all of us... especially Emma. She thinks it is great to have Emma sleeping in the same room with her.
We love our Meg.

Eli
Eli is such a fun boy. Yesterday he came home to tell me that he had walked around the track 10 times. The kids have chosen to be apart of a Marathon in March. Before the event they have to walk 25 miles to get ready and then they walk 1.2 miles there. So I was telling the kids about this on Sunday and was asking them to help me keep track of how much they walk. So when Eli's teacher was telling them if they walk around the track 8 times that is a mile. Eli then said to me 'guess how many I walked?' He was so proud that he walked more than his mile.
Last night we went on a bike ride and right when we got home he was asking how far we went. I don't think this will count as walking so I had to tell him we need to actually walk. He then proceeds to tell me that when you pump your legs on the bike it is like walking! hahah!
Love this boy of mine!

Emma
I think we have officially entered the next stage with Ms. Emm... She has completely dropped her second nap and has gone to bed by 8:00 the last few nights (I like that part). Yesterday she unrolled a toilet paper roll and spread it around the bathroom. This morning she pulled half the box of Kleenexes out and then turned around to go and play in the cats food where I walked into seeing her spitting a piece out. (Thank heavens for that.) And then she cried big tears when I gave her a little spat for getting into the cats food and water. (eww wet stinky cat food... yucky!)
But then we have the fun part where she loves to look at books. She is totally into sitting on my lap looking at a book for several minutes and then she is ready for the next one. She now knows where her eyes and nose are and has said 'eye' a few times. Now we are onto ears the last few days... she was quite fascinated this morning when I cleaned hers out after the bath. (hmm just saved Rhett's books from getting torn up... oh boy)
Oh and she has figured out how to throw a temper tantrum... problem is that we all look at her and laugh because it is too funny to see her little person trying to be mad. She even scowled at me the other day too.
Her new thing when I come in to get her from a nap is to look around for her afghan from my mom, grab it and then she will reach for me. She loves to hug her doll and be wrapped in her blanket. She loves to hug and especially if they are her size. We had friends over last Friday and she kept hugging on their little girl, who didn't quite know what to do with that. Funny little Emma.
