Kids

We had an eventful weekend. We had friends over Friday night to play games. We tried to put the kids to bed at a decent hour because of their make-up day on Saturday. I really tried to view this Saturday school as a catch-up day for me too. Because the kids were home during the week, I really didn't get anything done. So we maybe finished half of our to-do list before the kids came running in at 1:00.
We let the kids play with friends after school on Saturday (doesn't that just sound weird). About an hour into Megan's play she complained about her tummy hurting... Oh boy! So, when I can see that she is starting to look a little off, I am scooting kids out the door and driving them back home again. We needed to get Rhett and Eli from another friends house, so I talked Redge into coming with me. Well, we pack Megan into the car (I only half wondered what was wrong) with a bucket. I didn't really say - this bucket is for you in case you need to puke! Well, as you can see this one coming, when I was in getting the boys... she pukes everywhere in the car. (yes on Redge too) She couldn't get the lid off the bucket. hmmm lid wasn't on it when I gave it to her. I just told her to get the bucket as we walked past it in the garage... So she put the lid on the bucket!! Needless to say the van still stinks of vomit. Anyone have any great upholstry cleaning ideas?? YUCK!!
Oh and yes the snow has melted...was 61 yesterday but was in the 30's today - that is hard on me - pick a temp!!

It's Snowing!!

I really couldn't believe it last night when they cancelled school. Yes, even before it had started snowing! We woke up this morning to a skiff(hmm spelling?) of snow and it hasn't stopped yet. It is beautiful! (We might have a few inches now.)

What is sad is Redge has a bunch of people that have flown in for meetings and the locals didn't come to work! hmmm how come?? Well if there is a hint of bad weather there is a run on milk and bread (the basics, right?) and they will call in to say they aren't coming.... or the businesses will call off work. As I was watching the whole state school system shutting down... they were also announcing work closings! I love it here!

I guess I will give it to the locals that they are smart... one- take advantage of the weather, two- they really don't have the ability to deal with snow. If they had the equipment it would be an old wreck because it just doesn't snow here. Last time for this much - 4 years ago. Can you believe it!!??!! We would be closed down for an entire winter at home with that attitude!

The kids were so excited to play in the snow that they started doing their jobs for the day without me even asking them. I guess they are starting to figure it out!
I know they are freezing out there and they don't want to come in for fear it will go away!

Megan loves clearing off the piles of snow!

Here they are coming in finally!

Now we're going to have hot chocolate, dry off the clothes, and try it again!!
