We are here!

Yes, we have started our new adventure. For those that don't know... We have moved to North Carolina. Redge has taken a corporate position within Bayer. He is excited to start this job here now. He has been juggling both his rep position and this one for several months now. This can get really hairy. All this besides putting up with his very pregnant wife and trying to get us moved!! Quick travel log... We endured a night in Rexburg with our cat in the hotel room before we were to fly out. She was the worst part of the trip. Really I was ready to get rid of her - especially after finally giving up about 5:00 a.m. I decided it wasn't worth fighting anymore and just got up. She was on and off our beds all night and then we were nervous about her mewing (she wasn't supposed to be there!) She was quiet the whole plane ride. hmmm...The kids loved the plane ride. They were so tired I really thought they would fall asleep anytime on the plane. Megan fell asleep the last 30 minutes of the second flight and the boys didn't drop off until we were in the rental car. I was so glad for Loretta's travel bags!! They saved us.Friday we closed on the house and then went to the school. I guess we are used to a little less security. We had to sign in on a computer that took our picture and then it printed out a sticky name tag. This information was very specific - which room etc. We couldn't even show the kids the doors to their classrooms. I only had an appointment with one of the teachers and so we could only go there. I am glad for the security but man I just wanted to walk to the door, point, say 'look Eli, here is your classroom' and then go home. hmmm They told us to come Monday morning at 8:30 for a tour. We wandered through the new house for an hour plus trying to decide where to put furniture, etc. I think we have it worked out. I think we have even figured out where to put our food storage. After the house, Redge showed us where our ward building is and that the temple is right next to it. I have to admit, I had held up until I saw the building. I started bawling. It is good to know that the gospel is the same everywhere. Today, we played around a bit this morning in the pool and then headed to figure out where things are located. Redge knows I need to feel comfortable with my surroundings or I will be a mess! So, we found where my doctor's office is and the hospital. We found the bank, the grocery store, etc. (yes, even the mall - Annie, I found Kohl's, now you can come see us!) I know it sounds stupid but the roads are so confusing - Brigham Young didn't lay out this city! Salt Lake is a cakewalk compared to this place. Come visit, I will give you a tour!! When we got back to the hotel, we walked into the lobby and the fire alarm was going off. I guess some little girl had pulled the alarm. The poor dad was mortified. So, with that we went up to our rooms, thinking the annoying alarm would be disabled soon. Oh my word!! It went on for another 30 minutes. We finally gave up and went for a walk. I was wishing for the camera to snap that picture! (Oh, Krista - forgot the camera to take to the house today. I will remember tomorrow!)I think that updates us until now!
